Summary

Viento del pueblo is a collection of poems written by Miguel Hernández during the Spanish Civil War. A militarily and politically committed work, it brings together verses of a forcefulness and an intensity that contrasts with the lyrical and intimate tone of much of his earlier work. Miguel Hernández's poetry of war and urgency is based on the popular, on the people to whom the title of the work refers, on their misery, suffering and pain... but there is not only violence in them, there is also hope in a victory and in a tomorrow that are built from the frontline as a collective effort.

Being a propaganda contribution to the cause in which the author takes a clear position without room for nuances, it relies in the poetic structure of "romances" , and provides a beautiful poetic testimony of a traumatic event for Spain, its people, and its literature.
